Laurie is a retired teacher, who loves the beach and truly enjoys getting to know new people. After 36 years in Austin, Laurie is back in the valley (born in McAllen), living the dream. Having lived on South Padre Island in the 70s, she is delighted to call it her home. She only wishes her friends and family lived closer. She is a mother of one and a grandmother of two and a proud owner of two purrfect fur-babies, and a little dog.

She takes pride in her house and in creating a welcoming environment where guests can feel relaxed and at home.  Her goal is to have visitors who come back time and time again. 

In her spare time, she works on her Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Design and Technology, rides her bike, swims, and if she can learn how to do it again, she would like to surf.
